For the ultimate in breathability and comfort, wide-leg jeans are the way to go, especially if they are only 12oz and woven with low tension. "Kiraku" (楽) translates to "comfort" due to its 12oz lightweight and breathable fabric. The weave tension is extremely low for this denim, combining different kinds of cotton (Peruvian and Pima), resulting in a material that is variegated and irregular despite its relatively lightweight. Crafted using thicker yarn, this fabric appears heavy while maintaining a deceptively breathable feel due to the loose-tension weave.
Shuttle looms are manipulated to achieve ultra-low tension, resulting in an unusually soft fabric with a considerable amount of slub and a beautiful hue of indigo shadows from natural indigo rope dyeing. This fabric is unique, and only Oishi-San can create it. The cut features a roomy top block with a high rise and a strong taper at the hem, with a moderate length of 30" to ensure a perfect silhouette for sneakerheads. The contained length gives greater presence to light-colored sneakers for a clean and elegant look. If you are tall, above approximately 185cm, the length allows for an ankle-length look to enhance your footwear. If you are shorter than 185cm, you can choose to cuff them once or several times to show off that gorgeous pink selvedge.
In keeping with ONI Denim's commitment to excellence, the Kiraku jeans incorporate premium details such as copper buttons, high-quality pocket bags, heavy-duty bar tacks, and a custom veg-tanned cowhide leather patch. Each pair embodies the brand's dedication to quality and craftsmanship, making them a standout addition to any denim aficionado's wardrobe.
This model have a standard sizing. We recommend choosing your usual size. However, as always, we recommend checking the size chart first to find your perfect size. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage. The waist will experience the typical stretching seen in ONI denim due to the low tension weave, although not as much as the secret denim. Expect approximately 1 inches of stretching.
The legend of ONI is alive to this day. In recent years Oishi-San has devoted himself to experimenting with widely varying grammages, rough textures, different indigo dyeing techniques and novelty cuts while always maintaining a very limited production and wielding his experience in denim which now goes back more than 60 years.
